Public Transit in Niagara

Niagara communities are connected through a web of transit authorities that includes a Regional Transit system connecting the transit systems of Niagara Falls, Welland, St. Catharines, Port Colborne and Fort Erie. All of these transit systems are interconnected and together provide bus services on over 50 routes with hundreds of buses.

Government of Ontario (GO) Transit is Ontario's only interregional and integrated public transit system, linking Toronto with the surrounding regions of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) transit systems that includes the Niagara region. Throughout the year GO Transit runs bus services to and from Toronto with stops in Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls, and during the summer GO Transit runs a train service to Niagara Falls from Toronto on weekends.

Via Rail , Canada's national passenger rail service, brings train travelers from across Canada to the stations in Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls on regularly scheduled runs.

With both municipal, provincial and national bus and train services, the Niagara Region is accessible and open to the public who choose the public transit alternative to personal transportation.
