PlanET Biogas Solutions

History
PlanET Biogas Solutions' goal is to provide solutions to waste problems and to provide revenue to operations while improving the overall effiency of existing businesses. Specializing in the design, construction, and service of anaerobic digester facilities in Canada, PlanET has been a leader in the Canadian biogas market for over 5 years. The company designs, builds and operates anaerobic digestion systems that convert waste biomass to biogas. Two installed systems in the Niagara Region, both at local greenhouses, are serving the heating needs of both growing operations. Excess electricity is diverted to Ontario's power-grid.

They generate electricity from manure and provide the technology and facilities for others to do the same. The Niagara region makes perfect sense for them as it has quietly become a major centre for agribusiness and sustainable technologies. Their cost of operations is less than in most other communities, and they have tremendous affordable access to global markets as a result of the multimodal hub. When the workday is done, employees can continue their lifestyle in the Niagara Escarpment, a designated world biosphere.

Why Niagara?

“We’re well suited, we can get to our projects very quickly on the Q.E.W and we’re also poised should the market across the border also develop. We have developed a relationship with local suppliers they know what we want, they keep it in stock and it’s been extremely beneficial. It’s nice to avoid the hustle and bustle of the GTA. We benefit from the chamber of commerece and we continue to network with local farmers. There’s a nice work life balance. There’s a lot of room for growth”
