Agriculture is a large sector in the Niagara Region. From fruits and vegetables to trees and floral plants, Niagara grows it all. With agriculture being so important to our region, we take great pride in what we grow.
Ontario is North America's third largest greenhouse floriculture producer, following California and Florida. Niagara is home to more than 30% of Ontario's floral production area. Our 200 greenhouse operations are home to some of Canada's industry champions and we're expanding!
Niagara has more than 18 million sq. ft. dedicated to greenhouse production. Over 80% (11 million sq. ft.) of the area under glass or plastic in Niagara is devoted to floral crops, cut flowers, potted floral and foliage, bedding plants, nursery stock and propagating materials. We have all the essential components: ideal weather, ample water and energy, market proximity, highways, support industries and expertise to ensure quality, variety and year-round availability of the floral products wholesalers demand.
Niagara Growers:
A proud, competitive network of owner-operators with traditional commitment to excellence spanning three generations... a proven source of quality, variety and year-round availability.
