Niagara has the capacity to support different types of Research and Development companies with an array of different specialties.
Some examples of local Research and Development activities are:
Niagara College - Niagara Research & the Research and Innovation Division (applied research); Niagara Research, in partnership with business or community partners, conducts applied research projects that model or simulate solutions, develop and test prototypes, adopt new technologies and knowledge, develop and evaluate new and improved products, processes or solutions to community issues.
Vineland Research and Innovation Centre: This internationally recognized centre of horticulture research and innovation plays a significant role in the delivery of horticulture technology.
McMaster University: McMaster has a number of research centres under its umbrella, including the McMaster Biosciences Incubation Centre, the Manufacturing Research Institute and McMaster Innovation Park. It is also involved in many partnerships such as the Golden Horseshoe Biosciences Network.
Brock University Research: Brock’s campus houses the Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex, the Cool Climate Oenology & Viticulture Institute, the Centre for the Digital Humanities and more.
